The board of directors of LaGrange County Community Foundation has made a proactive decision to divert all 2009 grant making funds to assist nonprofit organizations which provide basic needs for those who are out of work due to the current economic situation in LaGrange County. See Community News page for updates on current projects.
Normally, the
LaGrange County Community Foundation reviews proposals and awards competitive grants
two times per year.

Grant proposals may be mailed or hand-delivered to the LCCF offices and
must be received no later than the application deadline. Each submission
must consist of one (1) original and nine (9) complete copies of your
proposal - 10 proposal packets total. Each proposal packet must
be simply stapled together - not placed in folders, binders or any other
packaging. Proposal packets may not include videotapes, floppy or
compact disks or be sized larger than an 8 ½ by 11-inch format.
Submissions by e-mail or fax will not be accepted.
After the proposal is received, a LCCF staff member
or a member of the LCCF Grants Committee will review it to make sure that
all the informational requirements have been met. You may be contacted
and asked to provide additional data or to host a site visit as part of
the grants committee evaluation. After careful evaluation of each proposal
for that grant cycle, the grants committee will present their recommendations
for action to the LCCF Board of Directors at the next available board
meeting. The board will weigh the recommendations of the grants committee
against the LCCF mission and available funding. A decision regarding
each proposal will be made to fund in full or part, table action until
another grant cycle or deny funding.
In some cases, proactive grants
may be awarded or cooperative efforts between community organizations
may be encouraged by the LCCF Board of Directors in order to meet community
needs that fall within the LCCF mission.
All board decisions are final.
Applicants will be notified
promptly by mail following the board decision. Successful applicants will
be required to sign a grant agreement and other documents. Checks are
typically presented at the next available board of directors meeting.
From application deadline to the payment of checks the entire process
may take 45 to 60 days.
